Donald V. La Barge III, M.D., MBA joined the Miller Vein team of vascular experts in May of 2017 as Medical Director, Miller Vein – Monroe. Dr. La Barge is extensively trained in the diagnosis and treatment of varicose vein disease and related disorders.  He is skilled in all minimally invasive techniques including endovenous thermal ablation (EVTA). “Dr. LaBarge is a highly educated and gifted physician as well as a decorated war hero having served in both the U.S. Marines and the Navy. We are very fortunate to have him join our team where he will focus exclusively on vein disease,” says Jeffrey H. Miller, M.D., founder of Miller Vein. 

Dr. La Barge earned his Bachelor of Arts from Wayne State University and his Medical Degree from Michigan State University. During his radiology training, he attended the University of Michigan and earned an M.B.A. He later completed an extensive two year Neurointerventional fellowship program at the University of Utah.

Earning many awards and honors along his journey, Dr. La Barge was awarded the USMC-Navy Achievement Medal, a Phi Beta Kappa nomination, the inclusion on the Dean's List and Honor Roll each semester through all of his undergraduate studies. From 2004-2007, he was Junior and then Senior Chief Resident in the Radiology Program at Oakwood Healthcare System. From 2010 through 2012 he held administrative positions in Portsmouth, Virginia and Kandahar, Afghanistan.  In 2012 he was awarded an Afghanistan Campaign Medal, a NATO International Security Assistance Force Medal and Navy Commendation Medal for service while deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan.

Dr. La Barge is married, with two children and enjoys farming, hunting and fishing.
