Spider Veins

Spider Vein Treatment in Michigan

What are Spider Veins?

Spider veins are those small web-like networks of red, blue, or purple veins that are 1mm or less in diameter. They can appear anywhere on the body but are often found on the legs or face. And while these veins are typically harmless, their visibility can be a source of discomfort and impact confidence for many people.

How do Spider Veins Occur?

Spider veins occur when small blood vessels near the surface of the skin become dilated due to factors such as genetics, hormonal changes, prolonged standing, or sun exposure. Though not typically painful, they can sometimes cause itching or burning sensations, especially after long periods of standing or sitting.

What is Sclerotherapy and How Does it Work?

The most common method of treatment used in the VeinErase® method is sclerotherapy. A medication is injected directly into vessels to close spider veins. Sclerotherapy is considered the gold standard for treatment of larger spider veins on the legs and hands.

A commonly used treatment for smaller leg veins and veins on the face and hands is VeinGogh™ which delivers radiofrequency energy through an ultra-fine insulated needle to heat the affected blood vessels. The sides of the blood vessel stick together then disappear. The ultra-fine needle allows for precise, accurate treatments, even in hard-to-treat areas, such as the nose and cheeks.

Spider vein treatments are both effective and convenient. Sessions are quick, often completed in under an hour, and require little to no downtime. Whether you’re addressing a few small areas or more widespread vein concerns, we ensure that every treatment is tailored to your specific needs and aesthetic goals.

Why choose the VeinErase® program?

Clinical Excellence

Unlike many clinics who charge a lot but treat a little, we treat both legs in one session and use the maximum, safe dose of medication. We only use FDA-approved medications and medical devices to ensure your safety and our team will screen for more serious medical conditions during your visit. We take pictures prior to each treatment session so you can see the results.

Integrity

We don’t sell or perform unnecessary procedures. Every day we see patients who have visited other vein clinics only to receive treatment they didn’t need. Over 1,500 physicians have referred their patients to Miller Vein because we do not recommend unnecessary medical treatments.

Comfort

VeinErase® includes a unique combination of therapeutic techniques. Cold air and vibration are applied to your skin during the procedure to ensure your comfort. You can also take comfort in knowing that our team treats the underlying cause of spider veins to ensure longer lasting results.

Can spider veins signal a more serious medical condition?

Spider veins can signal underlying venous reflux disease (VRD) or chronic venous insufficiency (CVI). Symptoms include leg pain, throbbing, heaviness, aching, swelling, itching, skin changes, or a wound that won’t heal. You will be screened for these conditions during your evaluation.
