Varicose veins are abnormally enlarged veins at the surface of your skin which can appear to be bulged, twisted, or ropey. Diagnosis and treatment of varicose veins is frequently covered by insurance.
Available treatment options for varicose veins include:

  • Thermal Ablation
  • Non-thermal Ablation
  • Additional Treatment Options

“I had two procedures and saw immediate results. If you looking to have your varicose vein’s treated look no further. Thank you, Miller Vein!!!!!!!”

– C.C, MillerVein Patient

Thermal Ablation

There are two types of thermal (heat) ablation procedures that close down abnormal veins: Endovenous Laser Ablation and Radiofrequency Ablation. Both of these treatments are FDA approved and performed in less than 30 minutes with success rates greater than 90% and very low recurrence rates. Patients can immediately return to normal activity that same day, with little or no pain.

Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA)

EVLA consists of inserting an FDA approved laser fiber into the affected vein. Laser energy heat is then delivered to the vein and seals it shut (ablation). Once the bad vein is closed, blood is naturally rerouted to healthy veins which improves venous circulation.

Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)

RFA consists of inserting an FDA approved catheter (VNUS ClosureFAST ®) into the affected vein. Radiofrequency energy (heat) is then delivered to the vein and seals it shut like EVLA. Once the bad vein is closed, blood is naturally rerouted to healthy veins which improves venous circulation.

“I cannot even begin to explain how much my legs have changed for the better. Those unsightly varicose veins are disappearing before my eyes. The staff is very friendly and professional! I highly recommend them!”

– J.S., MillerVein Patient

Non-Thermal Ablations

There are several treatment options that do not use heat for ablation. Each treatment method is uniquely designed for specific vein situations. And like thermal ablation treatments, patients can immediately return to normal activity with little or no pain.

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy uses an FDA approved prescription medicine injected into abnormal veins under ultrasound guidance to seal them shut. Some patients only need a single treatment. Additional treatment may be needed, depending on the number and size of veins.

Mechanochemical Ablation (MOCA)

ClariVein® is a treatment of venous insufficiency and like other endovenous procedures is aimed at closing down problematic veins. MOCA vein treatment uses the patented ClariVein® catheter and combines two methods of action: Mechanical agitation of the vessel by a rotating catheter tip with a sclerosant drug (chemical) sprayed from the tip of the catheter as it is pulled back. The agitation to the vein coupled with the medicine delivered to it, closes it down quickly.

VenaSeal™

The VenaSeal™ system is a form of ablation that improves blood flow by closing diseased veins with a medical adhesive (glue). A special catheter system delivers a small amount of a specially formulated adhesive to the diseased vein. The adhesive seals the vein and blood is rerouted through nearby healthy veins.

Currently this procedure is covered by some insurance providers.

“I’ve never had such a wonderful experience with a doctor’s office. The amount of care they give to patients is astounding. The results are incredible. I cannot believe how much better quality of life I have. My pain in has completely disappeared.”

– R.S., MillerVein Patient

Additional Treatment Options

After treating the source of varicose veins with one of the various ablation procedures, additional procedures are often required to rid your legs of varicose veins. Miller Vein is unique in providing these additional treatments at the same time as your ablations. This saves you time and money.

Microphlebectomy

Also referred to as ambulatory phlebectomy, microphlebectomy is a safe and effective in-office procedure that is used to remove varicose veins through tiny incisions using local anesthetic. These incisions are so small that no sutures or stitches are required. Once removed, these varicose veins never return. The advantage of microphlebectomy is that it’s a “one-and-done” procedure. Patients are able to walk immediately.

Endovenous Chemical Ablation (EVCA)

Endovenous chemical ablation (also referred to as Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy) refers to the injection of a special medicine into abnormal veins in order to seal them shut. As with other ablation procedures, the treatment is performed under ultrasound guidance to ensure safety and blood flow is naturally redirected to healthy veins.
